Hair Color Categories And Descriptions:
Permanent Hair Color- Oxidative dye that
penetrates the cuticle of the hair into the cortical layer. The
natural hair color is altered until it is cut off, grown out, or
colored again. Many of the color lines that we use contain patented
conditioning agents and ingredients to keep the integrity of the
hair healthy and shiny.
Highlight or Lowlight- Permanent shades
of color, light or dark, is applied to the hair using various techniques
to create streaks or chunks of color on natural hair color. The
effect is a multi dimensional color that can look natural and sophisticated,
or fun and bold. This is great for both the timid and the outgoing.
Semi-permanent Hair Color- This color is
formulated to last from shampoo to shampoo. The dye stains the surface
of the hair (the cuticle) and contains no peroxide. This is a good
start for those who are reluctant to change their hair color permanently.
Demi-permanent Hair Color- A deposit only
color treatment that lasts up to 8 weeks and is ammonia free. It
imparts natural looking color with incredible shine and condition.
Blends gray hair and gradually fade on tone. Perfect for adding
a little spice to your look.
High Lift Blonde- It is used on any level
of natural hair color for maximum lightening. The natural hair pigment
goes through different stages of color as it lightens. Depending
on the color you want to achieve, this may take several applications.
Toners are used in the final stage when delicate shades of blonde
are desired. This is for those who aren't afraid to make a statement.
Toner- It is used to balance pre-lightened
hair, or to blend gray hair. This can be the final shade of a High
Lift Blonde. Some toners are permanent colors in pale, delicate
colors. Other toners used can be semi-permanent or demi-permanent
hair colors.
Custom Color- When the stylist combines
several application techniques and may use more than one color.
